A FS1E for Charity

Tony's FS1E for charityI, Tony Collins recently embarked on an idea to help children of all ages and less fortunate than the likes of us.

I decided as my hobby was involved with the FS1E I would source a wreck, rebuild it to the highest standard possible then raffle it off giving the money to charity.

I ran the idea by members of both the FS1E Owners club and the www.sixteener-special.co.uk sports moped forum this seemed to go down really well with a few members coming forward and donating parts. Per Brandt from the FS1E OC donated the frame and engine and then his company Fizzyparts.co.uk supplied a few more parts along the way, other members donated towards the bike as well.

I wanted to raise money for the Great Ormond Street Children’s hospital as they recently and are continuing to treat my daughter's best friend's little baby which has some complications, Per recently lost his nephew to leukaemia so we named the bike project MACCA in memory of him, with Per’s money going to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire NHS Trust Ward 201 and Mark, one of the Sixteener Special forums admin team had his sons life saved by Birmingham children’s hospital NHS foundation Trust against odds of million to one.

So there was the dream to give each of them at least £1000.00.

I built the bike and before I had time to really complete it was taken off to Shepton Mallet Motorcycle show to promote its own ticket sales and it won best in show in its class, surprised to say the least.

I shall continue to detail the bike as time goes on and it will come to you fully road legal.

The raffle will be drawn at Billing Aquadrome on Sunday the 5th September 2010 which is the second day of our annual two day Sports Moped Extravaganza to which everyone is welcome to come along too. (Details are on both moped websites and also www.aquadrome.co.uk).

I am hoping I can get a moped related celebrity to pull the winning ticket out of the hat!

You now have the opportunity to own this bike for as little as £2.50. We are selling tickets for £10.00 per book of five tickets.

To pay, please use the contact form on this site or call 07904 585 345 and I will give you a postal address.

Thank you for looking in and I really wish all of you the best of luck.

TONY COLLINS
